According to K. David Harrison, professor of linguistics at Swarthmore College, humanity is facing a "crisis of language extinction." In this video, Harrison discusses how small language societies are using technology to sustain themselves. He also talks about how he has been building "talking dictionaries" of threatened languages and working with the National Geographic Society under their Enduring Voices program.
