This site provides information and discussion for educators and resource developers interested in effective teaching methods and pedagogical approaches for using data in the classroom. The site contains discussions of pedagogic issues, links to sources of online data that can be used for education, examples of exercises that educators have developed, and scenarios that describe future uses for data in the classroom.
This site is made highly useful by the embedded pedagogy that can be found throughout and is incorporated into the individual components. Unique features of the site include Datasheets, which are single-page, educator-friendly descriptions of a dataset. Each datasheet provides the key pieces of information educators need to understand how a dataset relates to their curriculum and to start working with the data. Also provided are links to related research and education materials, such as existing classroom activities that use the data.
