This site describes the sophisticated tools and techniques used in medical imaging. Photos and short descriptions help you understand the slitlamp microscope, PET scan, X ray, angiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT Scan, and fiber optic imaging. By rolling over a black and white image, you will be able to see an introductory passage that describes how each tool operates and how doctors and scientists use them. The site also describes the conditions in which each tool is best suited, and the history behind each tool.

For Educators

These tools allow students to see and understand body processes that they cannot see otherwise. The site can serve as a valuable research tool to learn about technology, medicine, and the human body. The age range of the content is best suited for grades 9-12, as well as for some students in grades 6-8.
