The Science Inside Alcohol Project, funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), is a web-based science and health curriculum for middle school students and their families about how alcohol affects their bodies.

The classroom resources for this project were developed by the AAAS education program, Science NetLinks. Science NetLinks developed a series of lessons, resources, and printable student sheets that support teaching and learning about how alcohol affects the body through the lens of science and health. Visit the Science NetLinks: Science Inside Alcohol page for a list of all the educational resources developed for this project.

The downloadable book for parents, Delaying That First Drink: A Parents' Guide, also discusses the science behind alcohol and its effects on teenagers, as well as offering ways to talk with children about why they should delay drinking until they're older.
