October Is Health Literacy Month
October is Health Literacy Month, designed to promote the importance of understanding health information. The 2017 theme is “Be a Health Literacy Hero,” which encourages people to identify health literacy problems and find ways to solve them by improving health communication.
Empower your students to make good decisions about their health and wellness with this collection of resources from Science NetLinks and AAAS. It provides information ranging from basic personal heath and mental health awareness, to safety and medicine. Explore how viruses and germs work in the body. Have a discussion about how alcohol effects the mind and body. The collection also includes easy-to-read booklets introducing students to the science of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, AIDS, and allergies.
