Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day
Women historically have been underrepresented in the field of engineering, but that's starting to change. Women are now at the forefront of engineering fields from software development to creating ways to deal with hazardous waste to teaching people around the world how to protect their water supplies.
However, women still only make up 20 percent of the student body of engineering schools, so there's still plenty of room for growth. Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day is a way to encourage some of tomorrow's civil, environmental, and software engineers.
